Halloween - Oct 25, 1979

This week is the 20th anniversary of Silence of the Lambs so I'm looking at ads for other famous serial killers.

Here is an ad for Halloween from October 1979. Halloween debuted the serial killer Michael Myers.

Other serial killer movies:
- Silence of the Lambs (1991)

  1. Halloween on October 25, 1979, fell just days before the official holiday, marking the height of spooky season celebrations. The late 1970s brought a mix of traditional and pop-culture-inspired festivities, heavily influenced by the booming popularity of horror movies like Halloween (1978), which had cemented Michael Myers as a chilling icon.Costumes ranged from classic ghosts and witches to disco-influenced outfits and characters from Star Wars, which was dominating pop culture at the time. Communities organized haunted houses, pumpkin carving contests, and trick-or-treat events, embracing both the eerie and the festive.
